How it works

Why a Browser Instead of a Windows App?

NetMirror could be packaged as a Windows .exe installer, but the team chose a browser-only approach for three solid reasons. First: zero install footprint. You never need to download, update or uninstall anything — open the URL, sign in, watch. The same URL works on a brand-new laptop, a cybercafé PC or an old Windows 7 machine. Second: instant rollouts. New features ship server-side, so you never get the "please update" prompt mid-binge. Third: it sidesteps Microsoft's Store policies that would otherwise block the listing.

Modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave — are essentially mini operating systems. They handle hardware acceleration for 4K video decode, expose Picture-in-Picture, support Chromecast for one-click TV mirroring, and ship with built-in DRM (Widevine) for protected streams. There is nothing a Windows app could do that a browser cannot. The trade-off — a single email signup so your watch progress persists — is worth the convenience.

If you really prefer a native-app feel, the easiest workaround is BlueStacks 5: install the Android emulator, then sideload the NetMirror Android APK inside it. You get the full no-signup, offline-download Android experience on your Windows desktop. Heavier on RAM, but no signup needed. FAQ

Windows PC FAQ

Common questions about running NetMirror on a Windows PC.

Does NetMirror have a desktop app for Windows?

No, NetMirror does not provide a Windows installer (.exe or .msi). The PC experience is fully browser-based — open the current URL in Chrome, Firefox or Edge and stream. This keeps the install footprint at zero and means you never need to update an app. If you want a desktop-app feel, install Chrome's "Add shortcut to desktop" or use the Chrome PWA install button (three-dot menu → Install).

Why does the PC version need email signup when Android does not?

Browser sessions cannot store your watch progress reliably the way a native Android app can. Email signup gives the web version a server-side account so your "Continue Watching" list, search history, watchlist and account preferences persist across browser sessions and devices. Email is the only field — no phone, no payment.

Which Windows versions does NetMirror support?

Any Windows version that can run a modern browser works. That covers Windows 7 (with latest Chrome/Firefox), Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11. The browser does the heavy lifting; Windows itself only needs to handle the network and display. ARM-based Windows (Surface Pro X, Snapdragon laptops) is also fully supported because Chrome and Edge run natively on ARM64.

Can I install NetMirror via BlueStacks or other Android emulators?

Yes, this is a popular alternative. Install BlueStacks 5 or NoxPlayer on your PC, then sideload the Android APK inside the emulator. You get the full native app features (offline downloads, no signup, native UI). Trade-off: emulators use 2-4 GB RAM and can be slow on low-spec PCs. The browser route is lighter and works on any hardware.

The current URL stopped working — how do I find the new one?

URLs rotate every 4–6 weeks because of ISP-level blocks. Bookmark our working-URL tracker — we publish the new URL within minutes of it going live, often before the official portal does. As an extra safety net, the master portal at netmirror.gg auto-redirects to the latest URL — but you should rarely need it because we update faster.

Is the website safe? My antivirus is warning me.

False positive. The streaming domain is independently scanned via VirusTotal — see the trust report on our homepage. Some AV vendors flag any free streaming site by default; this is not malware. We recommend Brave or Firefox with uBlock Origin for the cleanest experience.

Can I watch in 4K UHD on my PC?

Yes — supported titles stream at up to 4K UHD with HDR10 on capable browsers (Chrome and Edge with hardware acceleration enabled). Your monitor must support 4K (3840×2160) and ideally HDR. The auto-quality selector picks the best stream for your bandwidth; you can manually pick 4K from the player gear icon.

How do I cast from my PC to a TV?

Two easy ways: (1) Chromecast — open Chrome, click the three-dot menu, click Cast, pick your Chromecast or Chromecast-built-in TV; (2) HDMI cable — plug your PC into the TV's HDMI port and set the TV as the display. The browser also supports Apple AirPlay if you have an AirPlay 2 compatible receiver and a Mac, or AirPlay-enabled Smart TV.

Does Picture-in-Picture work on PC?

Yes. Right-click the playing video twice (the second right-click reveals the native Picture-in-Picture option) or click the PiP icon in the player overlay. The video pops out into a floating window you can drag around while you work in other tabs or apps. Works on Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Will using NetMirror on my work computer get me in trouble?

Two separate concerns: (1) Many corporate networks block streaming sites — you may not be able to access the URL on a work network at all; (2) Streaming personal content on a work computer often violates acceptable-use policies. We recommend using a personal device on a personal network for any streaming service, including paid ones like Netflix. A reliable VPN can help bypass network blocks but does not change the policy question.

Can I download movies for offline viewing on PC?

Browser-based offline downloads are limited. The browser caches a small amount of recently watched content but cannot save full movies for proper offline use. For full offline support, install the Android APK and use it via BlueStacks emulator on PC, or just download on your phone and watch there.

Is using NetMirror on PC legal?

Whether using a streaming aggregator is legal depends on your country and local copyright law. The website itself does not host any video files — it links to publicly available streams. We strongly recommend using a reliable VPN for privacy. See our best VPN guide for trusted options that work well on Windows.
